SBDYPİ addresses drivers
RH
The State Road Police Department has urged cyclists and other people driving two-wheeled vehicles to fully comply with road traffic rules. In the first nine months of this year, 16 serious road traffic accidents involving such vehicles were recorded, resulting in 9 deaths and 8 people sustaining injuries of varying severity. Law-enforcement authorities recommend that drivers use special helmets and reflective vests to ensure their vital safety.
Postxronika.az reports with reference to SBDYPİ that, under the legislation, the movement of bicycles on motorways is prohibited, and they are allowed to travel only in designated lanes or on the road shoulders. Getting onto the road with a technically faulty vehicle substantially increases the risk of a serious accident, particularly during the hours of darkness and in conditions with limited visibility. Violating the rules and the lack of visible safety measures place the lives of both drivers and other road users directly in danger.
Such awareness-raising calls carried out by the SBDYPİ aim to prevent unfortunate incidents on the roads and loss of life. The formation of a road traffic safety culture depends on how responsibly each citizen approaches the rules. Police urge road users to remain disciplined and not deviate from the established regulations.
