In the Latvian capital Riga, an international tournament in table tennis, the “Riga City Youth Cup 2026”, will kick off on October 23. At the traditional event, a total of nine promising athletes will represent our country under the leadership of the national team’s coaching staff. Elşən Hüseynov, Uğur Nəzərli, Nigar Mahmudova, Yağmur Məmmədli and other young tennis players will showcase their skills at the tournament.
As reported by Postxronika.az, with reference to the Ministry of Sport, our athletes will compete for prizes among both boys and girls in the competition, which will run until October 25. With training conducted under the guidance of experienced specialists, the chances of our team performing successfully at the tournament and winning medals are assessed as high. The international event aims to increase young tennis players’ professional experience and raise their level of mastery.
The regular participation of young athletes in foreign competitions makes an important contribution to the development of the national table tennis school. Experience gained at prestigious tournaments enables our tennis players to prepare more effectively for future European and world championships. The test event held in Riga is yet another opportunity for our young players to make their mark on the international sports arena.
