First meeting of the Supervisory Board of İri Şəhərlərin Su Təchizatı OJSC held

The first meeting of the Supervisory Board of İri Şəhərlərin Su Təchizatı OJSC, which operates under the State Agency for Water Resources of Azerbaijan, has been convened. The event featured wide-ranging discussions on the reorganization of the entity, improvement of management and enhancement of the efficiency of its operations, in accordance with a decree by the head of state. By decision of the Supervisory Board, Arif Fərman oglu Mərdanov, who has extensive management experience, was appointed as the new executive director of İri Şəhərlərin Su Təchizatı OJSC.

Postxronika.az reports with reference to ADSEA that the new head previously worked in various responsible positions in transport, energy and healthcare structures, as well as in “Azərsu” CJSC and “SOCAR.” A seasoned specialist was closely involved in the preparation of the legislative framework in the water supply sector and was awarded by the state with the “Tərəqqi” Medal. The reorganization of the enterprise will serve to improve the quality of water supply and wastewater services in the country’s major cities.

Modernizing the management model in the water utilities sector will create grounds for using resources more efficiently. Institutional changes and the involvement of experienced personnel in leadership will improve the standards of municipal services provided to the population. New projects to be implemented in the near future will further strengthen the resilience of urban infrastructure and water security.
