The European Commission has rejected the United States’ proposal to resume purchases of Russian gas as part of efforts to resolve the Ukraine conflict.
Postxronika.az reports, citing TASS, that this was stated by Paula Pinyon, a spokesperson for the European Commission, at a briefing in Brussels.
According to her, the European Union does not intend to lift sanctions against Russia until the conflict is completely over. Pinyon also stressed the importance of the United States and the EU continuing coordinated sanctions against Russia.
It should be noted that a complete ban on the purchase of Russian gas in the European Union is scheduled to enter into force in 2027.
