Chinese leader Xi Jinping is expected to raise the halting of arms sales to Taiwan during his meeting with US President Donald Trump during his visit to Washington this week.
Postxronika.az reports, citing Reuters, that Beijing, citing the US-China joint communiqué signed in 1982, may demand that Washington gradually reduce its arms sales to Taiwan.
In the document, the US declared its intention to gradually reduce arms sales to Taiwan and not carry out any long-term arms supply. China's Foreign Ministry has said it opposes US arms sales to Taiwan and considers adherence to previous agreements an essential condition for the stable development of relations. Xi Jinping is set to arrive in Washington on Wednesday, with official talks to be held on Thursday.
