Second Day of Judo World Championship to Be Held in Baku

Four members of the Azerbaijani national team will take to the tatami on the second competition day of the judo World Championship among adults in Baku. As Postxronika.az reports, the bouts will be held on October 5 at the National Gymnastics Arena, with athletes competing in two weight categories. In the -52 kg category for women, Gültac Mammadaliyeva will face Israel’s representative Gefen Primo in the Round of 32. In the men’s -66 kg category, Turan Bayramov will meet Luukas Saha (Finland) in the Round of 64, while Nizami Imranov will face Vaja Marqvelashvili (Georgia). Ruslan Pashayev will begin his campaign from the Round of 32. The preliminary bouts will start at 10:00, the official opening ceremony at 16:30, and the final block at 18:00. The competitions will be broadcast live on “CBC Sport” and “Judo TV”. It should be noted that on the first day of the tournament, Əhməd Yusifov won the gold medal in the -60 kg category and became Azerbaijan’s fourth World Champion among adults in the history of Azerbaijani judo.
