A new road connection is being built from Aghdam to Kalbajar

Construction continues on a 33.8-kilometer highway along the Aghdere–Aghdam route, which will link Karabakh’s lowland and mountainous areas.
Postxronika.az reports with reference to the Azerbaijan State Road Transport Agency that a new route is being built starting from the 9th kilometer of the Suqovushan–Kalbajar road. In different sections, it will be constructed in accordance with technical category I, II and III, with 2 and 4 lanes. Under the project, the construction of 4 bridges and 56 culverts is planned. At present, the roadbed and artificial structures are being built; 76 pieces of machinery and a team of 75 people have been mobilized. Once the project is completed, a single transport link will be established extending from Aghdam to Aghdere, Suqovushan and Kalbajar. It is reported that the new road will help expand transport opportunities in Karabakh and East Zangezur and strengthen links between settlements.
