U.S. President Donald Trump said the decision to secure an agreement with Russia for diesel fuel supplies was the right step in the interests of the American people.
Postxronika.az reports, citing TASS, that Trump said the European Union has paid $250 billion to Russia for energy products and that he made the right decision for the interests of the American people.
During a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump on October 9, the supply of oil products was also discussed.
Alexandr Novak, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, said his country would lift the restriction on diesel exports ahead of schedule and is prepared to supply 300,000 tons of fuel in October, 500,000 tons in November, and 1 million tons in December.
Meanwhile, the U.S. administration has issued a general license allowing Russia’s diesel to be supplied to the global market until April 7, 2027.
