US Justice Department threatens California with a lawsuit

The US Department of Justice has given California state officials 48 hours to investigate allegations that non-citizens have been added to the voter rolls, warning that legal action would follow if the probe is not completed.

The letters require that no ballots be sent to those individuals until their citizenship status is clarified, and that ballots already returned not be counted.
